Introduction
From petroleum roots to hydrogen horizons.
Livingstone Energies Coy Ltd (formerly Livingstone Energy & Petroleum Development Company Limited) is a company limited by shares, incorporated in Nigeria under the Companies and Allied Matters Act. We are a leading indigenous hydrogen energy and petroleum development company, with operations spanning the entire sub‑Saharan African region.
As the energy sector transitions toward cleaner sources, renewable energy has become our defining focus. Our effort is directed at developing key hydrogen energy hubs across sub‑Saharan Africa, and at partnering with global players on core research areas: electrolyzers, fuel cells, solar and wind energy, alongside wider sustainable energy initiatives and joint ventures.
Our competitive advantage in hydrogen and Power‑to‑X development stems from the region's vast, underused potential for solar, wind and hydro generation. It's the foundation on which we're building Africa's next energy export industry.

Developing key hydrogen energy hubs across sub‑Saharan Africa, in partnership with global research collaborators.
Power‑to‑X (P2X)
Converting renewable electricity into hydrogen, e‑fuels and industrial feedstocks.
Solar Cities
Solar generation collocated with windmills, purpose‑built to power large‑scale green hydrogen and P2X development.
Hydrogen Clusters
Integrated hydrogen energy, industrial and technology development innovation hubs.
Electrolyzers & Fuel Cells
Joint research and development with global partners on the core technologies of the hydrogen economy.
Petroleum Development
Subsurface development, wells and reservoir management expertise underpinning our transition to clean energy.
Flagship concept
Solar Cities: engineered for hydrogen at scale.
Solar Cities pair large‑scale solar generation with windmills on a single site, purpose‑built to power green energy and Power‑to‑X development. We're building Solar Cities and wind installations across sub‑Saharan Africa to drive a green hydrogen and P2X industrial revolution.
- Collocated solar and wind generation on a single site
- Dedicated green hydrogen and P2X output
- Functions as an integrated hydrogen, industrial & tech innovation hub
Our vision
At least
of the European Union's emissions‑free hydrogen needs by 2035, produced in Nigeria.
We are rapidly maturing our hydrogen and Power‑to‑X projects to position Nigeria among the world's leading hydrogen‑producing nations, turning the region's abundant solar, wind and hydro potential into a globally competitive export industry.
Where we operate
Sub‑Saharan Africa.
Headquartered in Nigeria, our operations span the entire sub‑Saharan African region — where abundant solar, wind and hydro resources position the continent at the center of the emerging global hydrogen economy.
